Day 2, Urumqi to Burjin |
Today's activities: drive through Kurban Tongut desert, Visit Wucaiwan, the multi- colored bay, wild animal protection area.

Details: After breakfast,
you’ll meet your tour guide and driver in your hotel lobby to begin driving to Burjin County through Kurbantongut desert
and, en-route, to enjoy the vast desert steppes of the China’s second largest province.
After 3 hours of driving we’ll stop
at Wucaicheng also known as Wucaiwan, the multi-colored bay. The bay presents the visitor with an artist’s composition of
reds, yellows, greens, grays, blacks and whites. The multi-colored Bay was one of the main locations for the Oscar Winning
Best Foreign language film "Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon". We’ll stop here for about an hour then continue driving through
"Karamay Wild Animals Protection Area." On a good day, you’ll hopefully see some of the many wild horses, camels or deer
during our crossing. We can stop to take photos at any time you want. We’ll arrive in Burjin county at about 5:00pm local
time and you’ll check into your hotel before dinner. Following dinner, we’ll take you to sample the raucaus, earthy
atmosphere of a famous nearby nightmarket where we’ll taste locally caught fish from around Burjin county (at your won
expense)
| Day 3, Burjin to Kanas lake |
Today's activities: Drive to Kanas Lake and visit Wusaitan on the way

Details: After breakfast, we ’ll complete a short drive to Wucaitan, about
24 km from the hotel. Here we’ll remain for about an hour enjoying the
beautiful, dramatic sceneryof this beach along the banks of the Irtysh River - the only river in
China to flow into the
Arctic Ocean. From Wucaitan, we push on to Kanas Lake passing through lush grasslands lazing at the feet of pine filled
mountain valleys over lording above. Once arrive at Jiadengyu which is entrance gate of the Kanas lake at about lunch time,
we have lunch either at local family in the yurt or tourist class restaurant, then take shuttle bus to the lake which takes
about 40 minute. we spend whole afternoon hiking, boating or rafting around lake as your wish. also go up to the watch tower
to view the whole spectacular scenery of Kanas lake. tonight we stay overnight at a wooden hotel located about a few hundred
miter away from the lake
| Day 4, Kanas Lake to Karamy city |
Today's activities: whole day driving to Karamay city and visit Ghost City

Details: After having your breakfast at your hotel, drive to Karamay City, about 470km from Jiadengyu. Your reward for today’s long drive will come in a glorious sunset at Ghost City where you’ll also have an opportunity to stretch your legs and take a hike back in time. Shortly after, we’ll reach Karamay and the relaxation of your hotel where you can freshen up for dinner.
| Day 5, Karamay to Urumqi |
Today's activities: drive along the Northern Silk
Road to Urumqi

Details: After breakfast, we ’ll drive back to Urumqi along the Northern Silk Road about 350km. The road to Urumqi is all new highway and it only takes about 5hours On route, we’ll have the chance to see many cities, village and towns that were once important stations along this branch of the Silk Road many generations ago. We’ll arrive in Urumqi in the afternoon
| Day 6, Urumqi to Turpan |
Today's activities: visit Idikut (Gaochang) ancient city, Astana tombs, Toyup village, Bizeklik Thousand Buddha caves and Flaming Mountains.

Details: After breakfast,
drive to Turpan on the first class highway for about 2.5
hour. Once you arrive in Turpan first check into the hotel, then we
start our wonderful day in Turpan beginning with a visit the ancient city of Idikut (Gaochang). The city was first built in
the first Century BC and later became capital of the Idikut (Gaochang) Uighur Kingdom in the 8th Century. You can take a
donkey cart to visit the site if you like. We’ll stop in the city for about 40 minutes and then drive to Karakhoja Astana
tombs, a Tang-dynasty burial ground which also known as the "Underground Museum". Astana means "capital" in the Uighur
language and Karakhoja is the name of a legendary hero of the ancient Uighur Kingdom who conquered by killing a vicious
dragon. Moving on, we journey to Toyup village, an old, beautiful and timeless village with a friendly Uighur community. Here
we visit several local families and eat lunch with a local family in their home. This could quite likely be the highlight of
your tour.. After lunch we visit Bizeklik Thousand Buddha caves which used to be an important center for Buddhist worship
under the Xizhou Huigu government of the Idikut (Gaochang) Kingdom. Finally, on the way back to the hotel we will stop at the
Flaming Mountains which people claim are so hot and dry that "flying birds even a thousand miles away dare not to come”.
Later, we’ll eat dinner in the Oasis hotel restaurant and the round the day off with an atmospheric song and dance festival
in the famous grape valley.
| Day 7, Turpan to Urumqi, fly to Kashgar |
Today's activities: visit Yargul (Jiaohe) Ancient city, Karez underground Irrigations system and Emin Minaret, after lunch drive to Urumqi.

Details: Following a hearty western breakfast at the Hotel we start our another wonderful day in Turpan. Our special itinerary today includes sightseeing in Turpan and drive back to Urumqi after Lunch. First we visit Yargul (Jiaohe) Ancient city which is one of the best preserved ancient cities in China. The ruins of the buildings are divided into temples, civilian dwellings and government offices. Workshops and residential houses in the streets are still visible and time there is time spent in a world long disappeared. After an hour of walking around the city area, we’ll push on to see the world famous Karez irrigation system, unique to this part of the world. The system is considered as one of the three great projects in China with the other two being the Great Wall and the Grand Canal. Then visit the Emin Suliman minaret which is a magnificent combination of ancient Uighur and Islamic architecture. It is the tallest ancient pagoda in Xinjiang and the only Islamic ancient pagoda in the country. Locals call it “pure tower.” After lunch drive back to Urumqi and take evening flight to Kashgar
| Day 8, Day trip to Karakul lake |

Details: Our experienced local guide and driver will pick you up from your Hotel at 7:00am local time or any desired time you wish, before we set out along the Sino Pakistan Karakorum Highway which is one of the most beautiful highways in the world.
After an hour of driving we stop in Opal village to buy fresh fruit and Naan bread and finally enter into the surreal glaciated scenery of the Karakorum Highway. Entering the world of the Kunlun Shan is an opportunity to experience one of the last truly unezplored places on Earth. The hues and colours of some of the world’s highest mountain ranges dominate every horizon on your journey towards Karakul Lake – The Kunlun Shan is known to contain 148 different kinds of minerals. About 125Km from Kashgar City, we must stop to check passports at a checkpoint before stopping at an ancient Caravan Sarai (former camping place of camping place for Silk Road Caravans). Karakul Lake lies not long after. On the way keep a sharp look out for Kyrgyz Nomadic herds, small mountain and the hued mass of Sandy Mountain all accented by the high colorful peaks of the Kunlun mountain range. By lunch time we reach Karakul Lake and have lunch at a lake side restaurant there. Besides the lake, you’ll have the opportunity to experience the surrounding culture. We’ll visit a local Kyrgyz family in their unique homes called yurts and take time out to ride horses and camels around the lake and surrounding scenery. Back to Kashagr in the afternoon and stay overnight
| Day 9, Kashgar city tour |
Today's activities: Drive along Today’s special tour arrangements begin with Kashgar’s famed livestock market and Sunday bazaar, then have lunch and a visit to Apak Hoja tomb, Old city and Idkah mosque in the afternoon. Your evening dinner will be a special one spent dining with a Uyghur family in a village outside the city.

Life stock market. This market happens every Sunday is sure to be the mostinteresting highlight of your tour today. It provides a great opportunity to take photos of the faces of local people, study traditional local market culture, test-drive a donkey or horse or even make their shoes. Like opening a window, today is a real glimpse into a time lost in the annals of the Silk Road’s past and an opportunity not to be missed.
Sunday Bazaar: It is said “you can find everything except chicken milk at this bazaar” as this bazaar is the largest in Central Asia. “From fluffy sheepskin hats to rugged camel-hide boots, not to mention beads, buttons and buckets of local lard, everything - including plenty of kitchen sinks -

is for sale at this fairytale bazaar. It is the best to chance to practice
your bargaining skills.”
Apak Hoja Tomb: Another name for this sight is Xian Fei Mu (the tomb of theFragrant Concubine). It is said that a total of 72 people belonging to one family of five generations were buried here and it has since been a holy place for local Muslims for more than 350 years. The construction here is really outstanding as it combines a local Uighur style with Arabic and Persian styles.
Idkah Mosque: The largest mosque in China and the symbol of Kashgar. Usually, 5,000 people gather to pray here five times a day during the week, though this
increases to 10,000 on Fridays and between 50,000 and 60,000 at festivals.
Kashgar
Old City: With a history of more than 2000 years, Uighur people have lived here for generations carving out a splendid society in the process. Kashgar old city was the renown center at the crossroads of the Southern and Middle Silkroads in the past. Today, Kashgar Old City is still a cradle of culture, a burning torch to the memories of the past. It is without doubt a step-back into the past in which you are a living part. L
Local Family Visit: Kashgar village population comprises 90% of the total population of Kashgar and we finish today with a visit to there. It is the best way to taste local family style foods and experience real life and culture at the end of your day.
